Rajendra Singh Rathore is the present Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader is the sitting MLA from the Churu Vidhan Sabha seat. Rathore won his first election from Churu in 1990 as a Janata Dal candidate before losing two back-to-back elections in 1980 (from Bani Park) and 1985 (from Churu).
